Job Description:

Wharton-Smith, Inc., a highly regarded construction company, is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Preconstruction Services Manager position. This position is based out of our Sanford, FL location.Primary Responsibilities:

• Developing, maintaining and leveraging long term beneficial relationships with key developers, planners, designers, vendors and subcontractors.
• Estimating and lead estimating group on cost estimates.
• Ability to read drawings, geo-tech reports and specifications.
• Perform quantity take-offs.
• Ability to formulate unit prices as needed.
• Solicit Subcontractor/Supplier participation via phone and/or E-mail.
• Write RFI's to design team.
• Proficient in scope analysis, ability to estimate deficiencies as needed.
• Project RFQ and RFP development
• Establish project database for proposals
• Create construction schedule for estimates in P6
• Coordinate and establish the project budget (GMP)
• Projects ranging from 4 Million to 120 Million, Hard Deadlines, and must be able to multi-task efficiently.
• 
  
• Participate in pre and post construction review. Preferences/Qualifications:
  • 10 years estimating in the Pensacola and/or NW FL region.
  • Previous experience with Hard Bid, CM@R, Design-Build and Negotiated Commercial Projects in the K-12, Higher Education, Municipal, Government, Military and Private Development market sectors.
  • Ability to understand construction terminology.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and knowledge of MC2 preferred.
  • Valid Driver License and ability to commute to job sites.
