Avocet MRO Services has an immediate opening at our location in Sanford, Florida for a Lead Engine Technician. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and accident insurance; paid holidays; paid time off; and a 401K plan.The Lead Engine Technician is responsible for leading a team in the removal, installation, storage, preservation, and testing of engines by overseeing and performing the following duties:Coordinating work prioritiesAssigning work as required to ensure on time delivery and airworthy aircraft/article/product for the customerCarrying out all assigned duties necessary and required to maintain aircraft/engine in a safe and airworthy condition in conformance to standards set forth in the FAA Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR) RSM and manufacturer's maintenance manualsRecording data on forms, reports, and inspection tags and notifying the Lead Quality Control Inspector of any irregularities in the standard practices that could cause injury to personnel or affect the airworthiness of the aircraftEnsure FAA approved data is used for all repairs and rework on aircraft and componentsEnsuring that a high standard of workmanship is maintained and that EO, AD, and SB are accomplished per applicable technical dataOrder parts and materials as required to complete tasksComply with FAA and company policies and proceduresRepresent the company in a professional manner and reflect a positive image with customersOther duties as assigned by Production ManagerRequirements:Minimum 5 years engine work in MRO, line maintenance, engine shop or field service experience with engines types A300, A320 Series, B737 Classic and NG, B757, B767, DC9, MD80, Run Qualified on DC9, MD80, A300, A320 Series, B737 Classic and NG, B757, and/or B767 aircraft preferred.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at professional working proficiencyAbility to read, understand, and follow maintenance manuals and IPCsA Certification - No ExceptionsWilling to TravelAbility to provide training recordsProvide tools as provided by a company tool listProvide training records showing qualifications on specific aircraft typeUnderstand and comply with FAA requirements of return to service of engines and aircraftWillingness to take responsibility and lead work scopesExcellent work ethic, motivation for a high standard of work, and positive attitudeLeadership qualities and the ability to learn as well as teach others on work scopesStrong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookExperience working with ERP programs preferredWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
