seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator in Orlando/Ocoee, FL.
to perform general maintenance of the highway maintenance projects
assigned.Your ImpactOperates one or more types of heavy equipment
such as: Track hoe, Backhoe, Excavator, pulling 30 foot trailer
with track hoe.Uses heavy equipment to push, pull, pile, or load
materials, such as sand, gravel, earth, coal, moving and covering
refuse, and clearing brush, rocks, tree stumps, and other
material.Ensures the performance of operator maintenance on
vehicles, such as cleaning vehicles, checking and replenishing
fluids to proper levels, examining and changing filters,
lubricating equipment, and making necessary adjustments.Ensures
proper use of hand tools for changing attachments, tightening loose
nuts and bolts, etc.Ensures safety practices and procedures
following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a
safe clean work environment.Ensures usage and assures proper fit of
required safety equipment and clothingPerforms landscape
maintenance duties such as mowing, herbicide and fertilizer
application, weed control, spring clean-up, fall clean-upPerforms
Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) / temporary traffic controlProvides
after-hours emergency incident response during scheduled on-call
rotationConducts pre-trip and post-trip inspectionsPerforms
preventative maintenance on company vehicles or equipmentDrives
company trucks, towing trailers and rolling arrow boards if
necessaryLogs maintenance work-order information and checklists
manually and electronicallyLoads and unloads equipment, supplies,
tools, and materialsUses all equipment, tools, materials, and
supplies safelyPerforms other duties as assignedWho You AreRequired
Qualifications18+ years of ageMust be able to effectively
communicate with managers and coworkers in EnglishPossess and
maintain a valid Florida Drivers LicenseCDL AAbility to lift up to
50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularlyAbility to walk, stand, or
sit for extended periods of timePossess good oral and written
communication skillsWillingness to work multiple shifts and varying
hours, including nights, weekends, and overtimeAbility to work
outdoors in a variety of weather conditionsAbility to work along
local roadways, interstates, and or/highways with commuter traffic
passing by at varying rates of speedObtain MOT certificate
(coursework and certification paid for by LBS)1+ years' experience
in heavy equipment operationSuccessful results of pre-employment
screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug
screenComply with Company Drug and Alcohol PolicyMust be authorized
to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful
candidates start datePreferred Qualifications1+ year of experience
working in roadway operations, construction, utilities, or
landscapingMOT CertifiedAbility to drive manual transmissionPossess
a working knowledge of standard horticultural practices, including
but not limited to mowing, weed eating, corrective pruning and
