We have an exciting opportunity at our Busy Outpatient Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy Practice for an experienced Patient Account Representative to join our Dynamic & Energetic Team in Sanford, Florida. 


Patient Account Representative

Manages several tasks daily related to patient accounts.  Daily duties include but are not limited to claim follow-up, collecting payments, resolving claim reimbursement issues, and investigation of claim denials.  Reports directly to Billing Supervisor.


Duties and Responsibilities include the following;

  • Responsible for rebilling, follow-up, and collection activity for assigned payers.
  • Responsible for researching, appealing, and addressing patient account balances.
  • Strong knowledge of Billing/EMR software.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document pertinent collection activity performed.
  • Verify claims adjudication utilizing appropriate resources and applications
  • Initiate telephone and/or letter contact with parties responsible for reimbursement for services provided.
  • Edit/Update claim information to meet and satisfy billing compliance guidelines for electronic and paper claim submission.
  • Participate in monthly meetings, training seminars, and hands on training as well as identify trends and claim related issues.
  • Must demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security regulations by appropriately handling patient information.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have outstanding customer service when communicating with patients and insurance carriers
  • Ability to multitask with attention to detail
  • Must work well in team environment towards monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.


Job Requirement:  High School Diploma or Equivalent and Insurance Collections Experience
