Job SummaryA Registered Nurse or Paramedic provides intravenous infusion therapy to COVID-19 patients within the RN/Paramedic scope of practice and following all standards of care and facility requirements. Please Note: This position is a Temporary / 40 hrs. a week position.Primary Functions* Greet and room patients promptly and with courtesy* Take full vital signs* Explain procedures to patients to calm apprehension and gain cooperation* Have patient fill out appropriate paperwork before each procedure* Prepare equipment and administer prescribed Intravenous (IV) medication* Monitor patient for designated amount of time after infusion* Chart accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)* Provide patient education with patient and/or family* Keep exam rooms prepared, cleaned and stocked; empty biohazard waste* Help maintain efficient patient flow through communication with healthcare teams* Answer telephone and messages in a timely manner within 24 hours* Monitor desktop and send patient letters / make phone calls daily (as needed)* Answer patient questions as needed and within scope of practice* Respond to life saving situations based upon nursing/paramedic standards, policies, procedures and protocols within the scope of practice* Complete other duties as assignedEducation and Experience* Registered Nurse with current unrestricted license in the state of Florida OR Paramedic with current unrestricted license in the state of Florida* Have and maintain a current CPR certification* Minimum one-year experience with IV-related administrationKnowledge, Skills and Abilities1.Understand and strive to maintain teamwork2. Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare teams3. Ability to demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail4. Ability to work under pressure5. Possess a good working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records6. Computer competencyReporting Relationship: Reports to Chief of Nursing
