Defense, Space and Security, Space and Launch division is seeking a
Senior Hydraulic System Engineer (Level 5) to provide support to
the Space Launch System. This position will perform supplier
technical oversight of hydraulic components design, development,
test, and production, including travel to supplier facilities to
participate in reviews, witness operations, and conduct technical
meetings. Also, prepare and maintain supplier statement of work and
technical requirements, and review and evaluate supplier proposals.
This position will also provide support to launch vehicle
operations at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, including
preparing and executing procedures. This position is located in
Titusville, FL. Primary Responsibilities: Directs the development
and documentation of large scale, complex mechanical and fluid
system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system
design. Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve
effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future
product designs to meet projected requirements. Serves as technical
consultant for disposition, corrective actions and coordination
with cross-functional groups to identify/implement solutions and
drive strategic improvements relative to production processes.
Coaches and mentors others. Works under consultative direction.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements,
therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required.
US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee,
or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Experience with design, development and test of launch vehicle
hydraulic systems and components. Experience with ground processing
launch vehicles, including preparation of ground procedures.
Experience with supplier technical oversight on cost-plus
development contracts, including preparation of specifications and
statements of work. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and
Experience): Experience using DOORS, APDM, and CSDT. Experience
working on NASA manned space programs, including building a good
working relationship with the NASA customer. Typical Education and
Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through
advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in
engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
(e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work
experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and
experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12
years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is
the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
