Wharton-Smith, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Business Intelligence and Solutions Engineer to work in the Business Intelligence & Solutions Division in the Sanford, FL or Tampa, FL area. This is a fully on-site role. Remote work is not available. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future. Primary Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models while building and optimizing Power Automate workflows to support and automate business processes. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions, integrating data from multiple sources with a focus on accuracy, security, and performance. Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance reports and automated workflows to ensure reliability and efficiency, while documenting solutions and standards to support scalability and knowledge sharing. Stay current with Power Platform updates and best practices in a fast-paced environment, with a strong interest in learning Power Apps and adopting additional technologies as business needs evolve. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Power BI and Power Automate, including report and dashboard development, data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and workflow automation. Strong experience integrating data from SQL databases, Excel, SharePoint, Dataverse, cloud-based sources, and REST APIs, with working knowledge of JSON data structures and API calls. Skilled in building automated processes using triggers, conditions, approvals, expressions, error handling, and custom connectors. Knowledge of Power Platform integration, data security, governance, and performance optimization, with the ability to troubleshoot, document, and maintain scalable solutions. People Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and organizational levels. Self-motivated with the ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Proven at translating technical or complex information into clear, user-friendly language for non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrates adaptability, active listening, and a customer-focused mindset, with a strong capacity for problem-solving, time management, and independent or team-based work. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field or equivalent professional experience. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models, as well as designing and optimizing Power Automate workflows. Strong understanding of data integration, DAX, Power Query, and Power Platform connectors. Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions while collaborating with stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated with strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
