Art Director Job Description About us Paradies & Company produces apparel goods for theme parks and major retailers across America. We're looking for an Art Director to create eye popping screen print graphics for apparel and merchandise, along with directing a team of artists on a day to day basis. We are not looking for web designers, this role is fully creative and requires heavy illustration talent. strong layouts and the experience directing other designers. Please read for more details. Qualifications Expert in Adobe software - mainly Illustrator and Photoshop Capable of vector illustration as well as detailed illustration in Photoshop using Pantone colors. This job requires design and detailed drawing on a daily basis. Advanced understanding of design principles (typography, hierarchy, and composition are a must have) Fresh and inventive thinking Highly Organized Able to work with many different personalities across the art room, sales representatives, and production floor Ability to meet deadlines across multiple properties Awareness of fashion trends and styles Day to Day Responsibilities Review schedule and delegate tasks to artists based on their skills and workload Create and review art concepts with the art team and sales representatives Render concepts in Illustrator and Photoshop Edit CADs, list colors using the Pantone system and learn specialty ink techniques to elevate your concepts Research and develop new techniques for screen printing Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Art and Design A portfolio is REQUIRED, we will not review applicants without an online portfolio. Your portfolio should include illustrations and graphic designs. When reviewing portfolios we want to see your graphic layout skills, illustration skills and your ability to draw numerous styles. Artists here are graphic chameleons, imitating cartoony styles, realistic illustrations, bold typography and simple vector pieces.
