Job Summary: The Director of Applications will lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, training, and support of all enterprise software solutions. In addition, they will lead the applications team, including hiring, directing, and developing team members. The Director of Applications will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.Key skills and experience for this position include project management, leadership, business process analysis and design, cloud solutions, ERP, warehouse management and construction/field services solutions.\ \_ __ Supervisory Responsibilities: \_\ Hires and trains IT staff. Schedules, organizes, and assigns projects to members of the IT team. Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.\ Duties/Responsibilities: \ Strategy & Planning Architect cloud-based solutions and evolve the architecture to stay in step with the changing landscape of technology and direction of the business. Review and analyze existing applications effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving, leveraging, or replacing these systems. Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices. Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.Acquisition & Deployment Research and make recommendations on enterprise software products and services with a heavy emphasis on cloud-based solutions. Evaluate new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise. Lead analysts, designers, and quality assurance testers and collaborate with business stakeholders in the testing of new and enhanced business applications. Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, security compliance, and interface specifications. Work closely with and manage key software vendors and implementors in the acquisition, implementation and ongoing support of business application solutions.Operational Management Direct and lead the applications team in the planning and day to day operations of business applications. Work closely with infrastructure and cyber security team members to ensure business applications are optimally designed for speed, quality, and security. Compile and maintain inventory/portfolio of company software and systems assets and their corresponding contracts/agreements. Develop and communicate training and documentation for end users, hold training sessions as necessary, and other user-related activities. Required Skills/Abilities: Strong sense of urgency. Preferred Skills / Abilities: Experienced in leading cloud-based ERP implementations from: Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Infor, Viewpoint/Vista, Plexxis or Sage Intacct preferred. Experience with process redesign and improvement projects preferred. Six Sigma and experience with successful Lean/CI initiatives preferred.\ Education and Experience: \ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration/Management, or related field. Minimum of five years of experience leading a business applications team. Experience leading a full enterprise cloud ERP implementation, including warehouse management and field services. Minimum of five years of experience in a construction related company. Experienced with all aspects of project management with multiple large initiatives implemented successfully. Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional project teams. Experience estimating project costs.\ Physical Requirements: \ Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Job Type: Full-time
